A draft resolution 'On improvement of State Migration Service's activity' was discussed at a meeting of the State Security Council of Turkmenistan.
As the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reported on Tuesday, the meeting was chaired by Turkmen president and supreme commander of the armed forces, Army General Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov.
'Approving the document, the President outlined the urgent challenges that the Service faces, fulfilment of which is designed to further enhance Turkmenistan's role and authority in the system of world economic relations by expanding mutually beneficial cooperation and friendly relations with all the people and nations of the world', the report says.
The meeting discussed the outcome of the military and law enforcement agencies, as well as the strengthening of their material-technical base.
In April, in accordance with the Constitution of Turkmenistan and norms of international law, a Law 'On Migration' came into force which establishes the procedure for Turkmen citizens, foreign citizens and stateless persons' entry and stay in its territory and their exit. The law establishes the legal requirements in the area of migration processes and competence of government to regulate these processes.
