Muzaffar Madrahimov was appointed as Uzbekistan's permanent representative to the UN by the decree of Uzbek President Islam Karimov, Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan told Trend on April 14.

Prior to this appointment Madrahimov served as an adviser at Uzbek embassy in the United States.

On his new position Madrahimov will replace Diler Hakimov, who was appointed the first deputy foreign minister of Uzbekistan in 2013.
