All Iranians, no matter of their religion, ethnic, sex, or age, will have equal civil rights in the country, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said on Wednesday.
Rouhani made the remarks at the graduation ceremony of the students of Iran's Amin Police University, Iranian State IRINN TV reported.
Rouhani went on to note that civil rights are his administration's first priority, adding that the police should help the government in materializing the goal.
"Police should act as the axis of the democracy. Police should work within the framework of the law," he added.
Iranian president also said that the rule of the law should be visible in every move of the police.
Rouhani further underlined that, the authority of the administration is based on citizens' votes.
