The government of Russia has approved the protocol to the Russian-Armenian agreement on points of placement of Russia's military base in Armenia, ITAR-TASS reported on Feb.4.

Russia will return a cantonment in the Hatsik village earlier transferred to it, to Armenia, according to the order of the Cabinet of Ministers published on the official Internet portal of legal information. At the same time, Armenia will transfer two cantonments in Yerevan and Gyumri to Russia. Thus, the number of placement points of Russian military base in Armenia will rise to 21.

Russian Defense Ministry and Foreign Ministry have been ordered to hold negotiations with the Armenian side without making fundamental changes to the protocol.
