The Investigation Service of Georgia's Finance Ministry has initiated another criminal case against the ex-mayor of Tbilisi, the head of the election headquarters of the oppositional United National Movement, Gigi Ugulava.
The criminal case has been initiated against him for embezzling budget funds in a large amount by using his official position, Georgia's Prosecutor's Office said on June 30.
Moreover, Ugulava is accused of embezzling significant amount of funds from the Tbilisi Development Fund.
The ex-mayor said that by summoning him for questioning, the government violated the moratorium that it put in place during the pre-election period.
