The European Week will be opened in Tbilisi, Georgia on May 5. The event will be held with the organizational support of the apparatus of Georgian State Minister for Integration into European and Euro-Atlantic structures and the Information Center on NATO and the EU.

The week will be opened with the conference 'Our European choice', which marks the final stage of the essay contest about the European Union and the competition, held at the Tbilisi State Academy of Art.

The event will be opened by Georgia's State Minister for Integration into European and Euro-Atlantic structures, Alexi Petriashvili and the EU ambassador to Georgia Philip Dimitrov. The winners of the contest will be awarded at the conference.

Discussions on the issues regarding the cooperation with European Union and the association agreement with the EU will be held with participation of students and experts on May 6.

The European Week will last until May 14. It is planned to hold meetings with students, representatives of academic circles, farmers and probationers.

Moreover, sports tournaments and exhibitions will be organized in Tbilisi and in the country's regions.

The European Week is traditionally celebrated in Georgia in May to commemorate the Europe Day.
