Administration head of Tbilisi City Hall, Revaz Chakhava and his deputy Mariam Shelegia have voluntarily resigned, NewsGeorgia reported citing Georgian Rustavi 2 TV channel on Mar.5.
Irakli Abesadze, the chairman of the National Movement faction of the Tbilisi City Council confirmed their resignation and said that it is related to nepotism and corruption in the Tbilisi City Hall.
"Regretfully, Davit Narmania [Tbilisi mayor] doesn't make a single and right decision with respect to the Tbilisi administration," said Abesadze.
He said Tbilisi City Hall serves to the interests of officials instead of caring about the city's residents, adding that this administration of Tbilisi should really be changed.
It should be noted that Georgian Interior Ministry released information in February about the detention of the head of the apparatus of the supervisory service of Tbilisi City Hall Jokia Bodokia for taking a bribe worth $50,000.
