The security issues have the greatest importance for the member-states of the EU "Eastern Partnership" program, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Moldova, Natalia Gherman said at a briefing in Baku Sept. 9 following the fourth informal meeting of foreign ministers of the EU "Eastern Partnership" member-states.

"The activity of the EU "Eastern Partnership" member-states is based on the principles of territorial integrity, sovereignty and non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries," she said.

"Eastern Partnership" countries support each other," she stressed. "We coordinate our activity as part of GUAM. Moldova is Ukraine's neighboring country. So, we are concerned by observing the situation in this country. We oppose the seizure of the Crimea, taking into account the impact of the conflict in Ukraine on the whole region."

"Moldova has already made its choice amid the situation in Ukraine," he said.

"We intend to integrate into the EU," she said. "Each country has the sovereign right to choose. "Our cooperation with neighboring countries will be based on this."
