French President Francois Hollande and German Chancellor Angela Merkel arrived on Feb. 5 in Kiev, where they are expected to meet with Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko, RIA Novosti reported citing Agence France-Presse.

Earlier, President Hollande said he will visit Kiev and Moscow on Thursday and Friday along with the German Chancellor Merkel.

He said that during these visits, they want to reach an agreement that would satisfy all the sides of the conflict in Ukraine.

RIA Novosti said that Germany's Embassy in Ukraine confirmed the information about Merkel's visit to Kiev, but the embassy couldn't tell the exact time of her arrival.

A representative of the embassy said the chancellor will meet in the Ukrainian capital with President Poroshenko.

On Feb. 5, the Russian presidential aide, Yury Ushakov, said Moscow expects from the leaders of Germany and France a "comprehensive way to resolve the crisis, which includes long-term measures."
