At least 31 were killed and scores were injured in a 7.5 magnitude earthquake that struck Pakistan's major cities, including the northern areas, on Oct. 26, Pakistani English-language newspaper DAWN has said.

"Forty minutes after the first earthquake, an aftershock of 4.8 magnitude was reported in the same area. Aftershocks are expected to continue in the affected areas," according to the report.

Reportedly, the earthquake's epicentre was in the Hindu Kush mountain range.

Pakistan, India, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan also felt the tremors caused by the quake.

Earlier it was also reported that Uzbekistan's capital of Tashkent felt an earthquake, estimated at four points on Richter Scale, at 14:10 local time (UTC/GMT +5 hours).
