Moscow urges to establish facts around envoy’s murder

All the circumstances surrounding the assassination of Andrey Karlov, the Russian ambassador in Turkey, should be established as soon as possible, Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Dec. 20, Sputnik reported.

Lavrov made the remarks at a meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu in Moscow.

Karlov died after being fatally wounded in an armed assault in an art gallery exhibition in Ankara Dec. 19. Three other people were injured in the attack.

The assailant, Mevlut Mert Altintas, was killed by the police. The Russian Foreign Ministry called the incident an act of terrorism.
