Two soldiers have been martyred and nine others injured in separate gun attacks carried out by PKK terrorists in southeastern Turkey on Friday, the Turkish General Staff said in a statement.

According to the written statement, the attacks occurred in the early hours of Friday in Beytussebap district in the province of Sirnak, where a group of PKK terrorists set up blockades and opened fire on security forces, the statement said.

The injured, including a village guard, were taken to a military hospital in Sirnak.

After the attack, Turkish security forces neutralized 34 terrorists in air-assisted operation against the PKK in the region, the statement said.

The attack is the latest since the PKK, which is designated a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and EU, renewed its armed campaign in late July. More than 120 members of the security forces have been martyred since. Turkish armed forces claim to have killed around 1,200 terrorists.

Fighting between the PKK and the Turkish state had seen a fragile lull for two-and-a-half years as the "solution process" sought an end the 30-year conflict but was reignited following the July 20 Suruc suicide bomb attack.
