Gazprom: Turkish Stream timeline to be clarified after Russia-Turkey relations normalize

Turkish Stream project implementation timeline will be clarified after normalization of relations between Russia and Turkey, member of Gazprom's Executive Committee Oleg Aksyutin said on Monday during the Investor Day, TASS reported.

"The Turkish Stream is intended for support of additional supplies to markets of Turkey and Southern and Southeastern European states. Implementation timeframe of the project will be updated after normalization of Russian-Turkish relations and signature of intergovernmental agreements between the countries," Aksyutin said.

On December 1, 2015, the Russian government took a decision to suspend work of the mixed intergovernmental Russian-Turkish commission on trade and economic cooperation, which was headed by Alexander Novak for the Russian side, and which intended to consider the Turkish Stream gas pipeline project.

On December 3, Novak told TASS the Turkish Stream construction project had been put on hold.
