Gas consumption in Turkey has decreased by 2.4 percent and stood at 43.6 billion cubic meters in 2015, according to the BP Statistical Review of World Energy 2016.

It accounted for 1.3 percent of the world's total gas consumption in 2015.

Turkey has imported 39.7 billion cubic meters of gas via pipelines in 2015, according to BP.

The country imported 5.3 billion cubic meters of this volume from Azerbaijan, while 26.6 billion cubic meters and 7.8 billion cubic meters were imported from Russia and Iran, respectively.

Turkey has imported 7.5 billion cubic meters of liquefied natural gas in 2015. The major part of this volume accounted for Algeria wherefrom Turkey imported 3.8 billion cubic meters of liquefied natural gas.

The country imported 1.7 billion cubic meters and 1.5 billion cubic meters of liquefied natural gas from Qatar and Nigeria, respectively in 2015.
