Aloqabank, one of the largest Uzbek banks, has increased the limit for withdrawing cash from bank cards through ATMs to 1 million soums, Sputnik Uzbekistan agency reported on April 4.

According to the information, the amount can be withdrawn only through ATMs located in the buildings of the operational management and the Mirabad branch office of Aloqabank.

The Uzbek banks allowed people to withdraw cash from bank cards with the help of ATMs for the first time in many years beginning from August 2017.

The first was Halyk Bank. The initiative then was picked up by other large banks that installed ATMs in public places in the capital. Initially, it was possible to withdraw up to 100,000 soums. The banks then increased the limit to 200,000 or even 400,000 soums.

The process of cashing out takes about two minutes. Banks withdraw 1 percent of the cashed amount for this operation.

(8100.92 soums = 1 USD on April 4)
