An earthquake measuring 4.2 points hit the Samandag district of Turkish Hatay province, the "Anadolu" agency reported on Friday.

At present, no victims or damage are reported.

Turkey is located in a seismically active zone, and the earthquakes that often lead to human losses occur in this country very frequently. The strongest fluctuations of the earth's crust in Turkey were recorded in 1999 in the Marmara sea region. The magnitude of the tremors at that time was 7.4 and caused the death of more than 18,000 people
