Differences among Azerbaijani MPs on Recognition of  Kurdistan Worker Party as Terrorist Organization

I.Alizadeh / The Azerbaijani Parliament will not make a separate decision to recognize that the Kurdistan Worker Party, which committed terrorist acts in Turkey, as a terrorist organization, MP Siyavush Novruzov, the deputy Executive Secretary of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party and member of the commission established in Parliament to develop the project of statements to recognize the Kurdistan Worker Party as a terrorist organization said.

According to Novruzov, the Azerbaijani and Turkish Presidents signed joint statements during the recent visit of the Turkish President to Azerbaijan. The statement reflects issues, which concerns the recognition of the Kurdistan Worker Party as a terrorist organization. "The document will be ratified in the Milli Majlis", (Azerbaijani Parliament).

According to the MP, the document will be submitted to Parliament for ratification in the near future. The document will express a common position of the Azerbaijani Government and Parliament on the issue.

The MP Fazil Agamali did not approve the information. The member of the MP group of the Azerbaijani Musavat opposition party and MP Panah Huseyn said that they were not informed that Parliament postponed the development of the document concerning the recognition of the Kurdistan Worker Party as a terrorist organization.

The MP Jala Aliyeva said that the document was developed by experts and the Milli Majlis would pass the document.
