Azerbaijani Opposition Parties to Monitor Election Committees in South Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan, Lankaran, 1 April / corr. Trend P. Aliyeva/ The Lankaran offices of oppositional Musavat (Equality), Popular Front Party and Open Society parties have decided to fight together against law violations during the presidential elections to be held in October. The parties have set up a Unified Information Center and have already monitored the same constituencies, said the regional correspondent of Trend .

During the monitoring held in Lankaran City Constituency #73, Lankaran Rural Constituency #74, Lankaran-Masalli and Lankaran-Astara Constituency #76, it was not permitted to become familiar with the election rolls, the Center said. The offices of the opposition Musavat (Equality), Popular Front Party and Open Society parties have demanded the heads of the Constituency provide favourable conditions for the citizens and parties to become familiar with the election rolls.

Lankaran is located 270km west of Baku.
