Iran and Afghanistan to invest railroad of Iran-Afghanistan-Tajikistan

Iran's First Vice-President Parviz Davoudi met with Afghanistan's President on Feb. 19. During the meeting Davoudi said that Iran was interested in railroad construction Havaf-Hirat-Meymene to Tajikistan. "Iran is willing to deposit joint investments together with Afghanistan to this sphere," Davoudi said.

Afghanistan's President Hamid Karzai displayed willingness to develop cooperation of both countries in economic, political and cultural spheres, Afghanistan's President office told Trend .

Iran's private sector plans to invest agriculture, cattle breeding, power production, development of railroad system and road laying in Afghanistan, Davoudi said.

Iran's First Vice-President is accompanied by Minister of Energy and Transport, Deputy Minister of Education, Chairman of the Organization of Islamic Relations and Culture and other Iran's officials during the visit to Afghanistan.
