The office of the General Secretariat of the Turkic-speaking countries' Parliamentary Assembly (TurkPA) was opened in Baku today.
Turkish Vice-Speaker Nevzat Pakdil and Azerbaijani First Vice-Speaker Ziyafet Asgarov have attended the opening ceremony.
Pakdil expressed hope that the Turkic-speaking peoples, who have the same origin, will be even closer, developing cooperation in various fields, in the future.
The Turkish delegation headed by Pakdil visited the Martyrs' Alley, as well as the Alley of Honors to lay a wreath at the tomb of Azerbaijan`s national leader Heydar Aliyev
Pakdil noted the special role of Heydar Aliyev and Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev in the establishment of the TurkPA.
