The Maltese authoritative journal The Commercial Courier has published an article about Azerbaijan with the assistance of the Azerbaijani Embassy for Malta based in Rome.
The article reflects the economic potential of Azerbaijan, the country's business climate and investment opportunities, the embassy told Trend.
The pulication described Azerbaijan as a country with a stable and attractive economy, a leading player in the region and an energy-rich country that has undertaken ensuring European energy security.
Separate articles are devoted to the economy and investment opportunities in the country.
The economy of Azerbaijan remains the largest in the South Caucasus and, despite the global economic crisis, remains incredibly stable, the article says.
"The country's economy is dominated by oil and gas. Statistics show that the country produced 19 million tons of oil in 2009, and this growth remains in 2010. In 2008, Azerbaijan's natural gas reached the European market," the article says.
Following the energy sector the country is successfully developing the ICT sector and this trend continues, the article says.
The publication links Azerbaijan's economic growth mainly with the country's policies aimed at diversifying the economy and the creation of favorable investment opportunities in all spheres of the economy.
"Azerbaijan has earned a perfect reputation for investment and trade relations, and the country is moving toward full integration in the international trading system, and has been actively developing trade relations with several countries," the magazine notes.
"Azerbaijan has gradually proved to the world its attractiveness for cooperation," the magazine quotes the Azerbaijani Ambassador to Italy and Malta, Emil Karimov, as saying.
Karimov urged business people in Malta to consider the opportunities offered by Azerbaijan. "Azerbaijan offers to the Maltese business community enormous potential for investment," he said.
