Azerbaijani Consul General in Los Angeles Elin Suleymanov was awarded an honorary diploma at the meeting of the Beverly Hills City Council on the Independence Day of Azerbaijan - Oct.18, the consulate general reported. The diploma highlighted the importance of friendly relations between Azerbaijan and the United States.
Beverly Hills mayor Jimmy Delshad stressed the strategic nature of the Azerbaijani-American partnership and friendship of the Azerbaijani and Jewish peoples, as well as the long tradition of tolerance and openness in the Azerbaijani society.
Delshad expressed his gratitude to the Azerbaijani Consulate General for its support provided while organizing the Beverly Hills City Day and noted the importance of Azerbaijan's diplomatic presence in California.
