Tbilisi has today opened the 7th Annual South Caucasus Media Conference, the main theme of which is the accessibility of information and new technologies.

The two-day event will provide a forum for discussion on media developments and challenges facing journalists in the South Caucasus region.

Government officials, international and national media experts, as well as journalists and civil society representatives from Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia take part in the conference.

This is a great new opportunity for the society, Georgian First Deputy Foreign Minister Giorgi Bokeria said in an interview with journalists.

"It is understood the Internet and new technology. But on the other hand, these are also challenges, because that brings a lot of problems. I believe that this discussion will help everyone, including the country's leadership, in the correct use of new opportunities and overcome challenges," he said.
