The Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy (ADA) is holding a course on "Studies in the Caspian Basin" for South American Diplomats for thefirst time.

On the first day of the training, Deputy Foreign Minister, ADA President Hafiz Pashayev met with the course members. He said Azerbaijan attaches special importance to cooperation with South American countries.

Pashayev underscored that ADA has opportunities for education of not only professional diplomats, but also students from Latin America who wish to study at baccalaureate and magistracy.

Later, the academy's Executive Dean Fariz Ismayilzade provided detailed information about the ADA and training.

Foreign diplomats will attend lectures on the historical and cultural heritage of Caspian countries, its status and geopolitics, oil industry and economy, investment opportunities, potential threats to the region's future, as well as regional conflicts within their ten-day stay in Azerbaijan.

Discussions will also be held in connection with the 20th anniversary of the restoration of Azerbaijan's independence.

Diplomats will meet with a number of ambassadors accredited to Azerbaijan, will visit Guba, Gobustan, as well as the Sangachal terminal, get familiar with the country's national cultural wealth.
