Today honorary consulate of Turkey was opened in Azerbaijan's Lankaran.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Head of the Caucasus Muslims Office Sheikulislam Haji Allahshukur Pashazade, Azerbaijani Minister of Industry and Energy Natig Aliyev, Azerbaijani businessman Mubariz Mansimov, Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Hulusi Kilic, Head of executive power of Lankaran Region Taleh Garashov, Azerbaijani and Turkish MPs and businessmen.

Taleh Garashov said at the opening ceremony of the Honorary Consulate is a very important event, which will contribute to further intensification of relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey.

Turkish MP Ahmet Arslan expressed satisfaction with the opening of the honorary consulate, saying that he hoped the consulate will serve for the development of fraternal relations between two countries.

Head of the Caucasus Muslims Office Sheikulislam Haji Allahshukur Pashazade said the opening of the consulate has a sore value. He said the opening is a great event, which is a symbol of friendship and brotherhood between Turkey and Azerbaijan.

Another member of the Turkish parliament Adnan Yılmaz, who spoke at the event, noted the importance of opening a consulate and wished success in their work.

Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Hulusi Kilic, speaking at the end of the ceremony said that this is an historic day. He also said that there is not such example of brotherhood as the fraternal relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan in the world. The Ambassador noted that the opening of the consulate will intesificate relations between the two countries.

Turkish Consul in Lankaran Mais Mansimov said that as consul he would do everything for operational and quality of consulate's services and further strengthening relations between the two brotherly countries.

Recall that the consulate in Lankaran will cover seven districts of Azerbaijan.
