OPPOSITION BLOC INSISTS ON ANOTHER RALLY

A major opposition bloc has appealed to the Baku City Executive Power for permission to hold a march-meeting on July 10.

The reformist wing of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA) announced that the Azadlyg (freedom) bloc is planning to start its meeting at 5:00 pm, from 20 Yanvar (January) metro station and march through to nearby Galaba (victory) square, with the consequent rally to last till 7:00
pm.

The Azadlyg bloc unites three notorious opposition parties вЂ" PFPA (reformists), Mussavat and Democrat.

The focus of the action will be made on demands for free elections and setting up equal conditions for all candidates.

The bloc’s latest rally on June 18 was a mass event, drawing a crowd of over 10,000.
