Discussions with UNO spokesmen held at DPA
The first deputy of Democratic Party of Azerbaijan (DPA) Sardar Djalalaogli met with the UNO spokesmen at the partys office. Freedom of conscience in Azerbaijan, activities of various confessions, possible conflicts on religious grounds have been discussed during the meeting, Trend reports.
Having specified the Azerbaijani society as tolerant in respect to freedom of confession and belief, Djalaloglu noted, there is a very low probability for the conflict to happen on the religious ground in the country.
The Special Rapporteur of the UN Commission on Human Rights on freedom of religion or belief Asma Djahangir, the head of the Human Rights Commission Bureau Antony Cardon de Lichtner and the project advisor of the UN High Comissariat on Human Rights program Teymur Melik-Aslnov took part in the meeting.
