Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mamedyarov received today Vasily Istratov, new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Azerbaijan. Trend reports with reference to press center of Foreign Ministry, Istratov handed the minister the copies of his credentials.
The Minister congratulated Istratov with his appointment and wished him success on his position of head of Russian diplomatic mission in Azerbaijan. He also stated his hope for the further development of intergovernmental relations and intensification of Russia as a country within OSCE Minsk Group regarding the peaceful settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. In turn, the ambassador said he would do his best to develop Azerbaijani-Russian relationships.
The same day new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany to Azerbaijan Dr Peer Christof Stankin handed his credentials to Mamedyarov. At the meeting the parties stated their satisfaction with the level of current relationships and hope for their further development.
