The discussions by France`s Parliament of the so-called Armenian Genocide is an interference in human rights and disrespect for the freedom of opinion, MP Ali Ahmadov, Executive Secretary of the ruling party Yeni Azerbaijan (New Azerbaijan exclusively told Trend expressing his attitude toward the draft connected with the so-called Armenian Genocide being discussed in France`s Parliament.

Mr. Ahmadov pointed out that he is sorry that France`s Parliament is discussing a draft which is a contradiction of the term human freedom. A country such as France which is known for its democratic traditions is discussing this subject. This is an interference in human rights, disrespect for the freedom of word, as well as a means of pressure Turkey, he pointed out.

The MP also underlined that France is one of those countries who do not like to see Turkey join the EU. The wish of many countries to see Turkey in EU compels France to take on more strict measures. After affiliating Turkey to the EU, citizens of this country will be able to travel freely to France. It is goes without saying that no Turk will ever admit the Armenian Genocide. pointed out Mr. Ahmadov.

He pointed out that the international community should have its say in this respect. It is not democratic to acknowledge the so-called genocide. That is a step aimed at the one nation. I would like to believe that the French Parliament will not adopt this document. However, if France adopts this law, that will affect its image, told Mr. Ahmadov.
