Niyazi Safarov, the Azerbaijani Deputy Minister for Economic Development, stated at a conference on 5 December 2005 that a meeting of the Azerbaijani-Austrian intergovernmental commission and business forum, held in Baku, ended with an agreement on presentation of Azerbaijan's investments opportunities in Austria in 2007.
Austria has taken an interest in Azerbaijan and along with the presentation, it is also planned to organize culture events, the Deputy Minister stressed.
Within the framework of the presentation, it is also planned to organize an exhibition of Azerbaijani goods allocated for export. Safarov noted that it is intended to demonstrate the output of the refining industry, carpets and other goods. We will deal with non-oil export, which the Ministry of Economic Development actively promotes,' the Deputy Minister noted.
In turn, the adviser of the Austrian Embassy in Russia, the head of the delegation, Johann Kawell, voiced their readiness to offer assistance to Azerbaijani companies in their entrance to the EU countries.
