Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Meets with Moroccan Prime Minister, Speaker

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr S. Aghayeva / The Azerbaijani Foreign Minister, Elmar Mammadyarov, has met with Morocco's Prime Minister, Driss Jettu, within the framework of the official visit of Mammadyarov to Morocco. The attache of the Azerbaijan's Embassy in Morocco, Anar Maddetli, reported 5 May that the Azerbaijani and Moroccan Governments had agreed to extend the juridical agreement base of the two countries and therefore to conclude intergovernmental agreements on Avoidance of Double Taxation and Mutual Protection and Promotion of Investments. The two sides indicated the necessity of strengthening the economic cooperation between the countries.

Morocco's Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to the Azerbaijani Government for support in settlement of West Sahara conflict.

Mammadyarov also met with the chairman of the House of Representatives and the chairman of the House of Advisors of the Morocco's parliament, Abdelvahid Radi and Mostafa Ukacha. The parties discussed the prospects of development of the inter-parliamentary relationships and noted the importance of regular meetings of the inter-parliamentary friendship groups.

Mammadyarov's visit is in progress. The Minister is expected to meet with Morocco's Minister for Energy and Natural Resources, Mohammad Butalib. Within the frames of the visit the Minister will tour Fess and Casablanca cities of Morocco and attend the Islamic Trade Development Centre in Casablanca.

On 5 May, the Foreign Minister will depart for Egypt to accompany Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, who will pay an official visit to this country 6 May.
