An Azerbaijani Opposition Party to Change Charter
Azerbaijan, Baku/ Trend , corr. IS. Ilhamgizi/ The opposition Azerbaijan Democratic Party is expected to change its Charter during its forthcoming Ninth Congress to be on may 27, 2007, a source in the Party says.
The social and political situation in the country, as well as issues connected with the preparation for the next regular Congress of the Party have been viewed during the today's meeting of the Organizational Committee of the opposition Party.
In addition, participants of the meeting summed up the results of conferences of regional organizations of the Party, as well as samples of some documents.
During the event, the delegates took a decision to introduce some proposals on formation of the Charter of the Party on more democratic principles during the forthcoming Congress,
Notably, opposition Azerbaijan Democratic Party was founded by Sardar Jaliloghlu in 1991. Since 2000 up to February, 2007, the Party was headed by Azerbaijani Ex-Speaker Rasul Guliyev.
