Azerbaijan, Sheki / Тrend corr E. Guliyev / Twenty-four orphans in Azerbaijan's Sheki region were adopted under the program on closure of orphanages, director of the Sheki Orphanage, Khuraman Gafarova, reported on 1 October.
Fifty-three orphans were adopted in the last three years.
According to Gafarova, Sheki Orphanage cares for 47 children, ten of which lack both parents. They will be adopted by the end of the year.
Sheki is located 320km north-west of Baku.
