Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend S.Ilhamgizi/ On 23 November the National TV and Radio Council of Azerbaijan made a decision ceasing the broadcasting of Radio France and made a warning to ATV channel for breaking the law, the Council's Chairman, Nushiravan Maherremli, reported to Trend on 23 November.

The meeting of the Council on 23 November focused on the issue of Radio France and monitoring of the TV channels.

According to Maherremli, the Council repeatedly warned Radio France of necessity of submitting documents for license. "Irrespective of our co-operation, they did not seriously approach this issue. The Council made a decision ceasing the broadcasting of the Radio France from 30 November," he said.

National TV and Radio Council provided licenses to the US radio channel Azadlyg, Voice of America and British BBC. The Radio France functions in 105.0 FM frequency.

This week the Council held the monitoring on ATV channel and found several breaches. According to Maherremli, ATV breaks Law on Advertisement and demonstrates facts adversely affecting the children.

"ATV demonstrates erotic films. Preference is given to foreign films and music. Very little time is allocated for Azerbaijani films and music," Maherremli said.

According to him, the breaks of ATV were presented to the attention of channel's employee, Elchin Alibeyli.

The results of the monitoring and decision will be announced after monitoring of TV channels by the end of this year.
