Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend K.Zarbaliyeva / Departments for Public Affairs should be established in the city and district police stations of Azerbaijan in order to develop relations between police and media, said the OSCE Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Jose Luis Herrero Ansola, on 17 December in the event organized by public union Journalists in Extremal Situation in co-operation with the OSCE within the project on Regulation of Relations between Media and Police.
According to him, during the round tables held within the project in co-operation with police employees, proposals were made to develop relations with media. They include conducting press-conferences and briefings by the chiefs of the police departments and other officials after criminal events. Herrero said that the OSCE Baku office supports all proposals and provides all possible assistances in realizing them.
Within the project, three rounds tables have been held in Baku, Ganja and Khachmaz with the participation of the police employees and media representatives.
