Skirmishes in Zurich following Italy-Romania game
A 25-year-old Swiss man suffered slight head injuries after a number of brawls in Zurich overnight following the Italy-Romania game, the Swiss wire service ATS reported Saturday.
The man had been struck by a heavy object and was taken to hospital, the canton's police said, describing it as the most eventful night so far during the Euro championship, dpa reported.
The evening had started peacefully but deteriorated with a number of fights leaving a handful of people injured. A number of people were detained by police.
Around 35,000 supporters had gathered in the fan zones to watch the early evening game followed by Holland-France.
