Changes and amendments to the law On freedom of consciences may be introduced till the year-end, the State Committee on work with religious structures of Azerbaijan told Trend.
Amendments and changes to the law are scheduled in regard to passing the law On alternative military service at the Milli Mejlis of Azerbaijan soon. The State Committee thinks the law must ensure more transparency of relations between the state and religious congregations, as well as stipulate taking specific measures towards individuals disseminating the ideas of extremism and trying to use religion in political purposes.
It should be noted the acting law On freedom of conscience was adopted in 1992.
