Society Materials 17 April 2006 14:45 (UTC +04:00)

As per the complaint submitted by Natik Mirzoyev, lifelong convict of Gobustan special jail, an appeal was brought up to the Sabail district court, Trend reports with reference to Eldar Zeynalov, head of Human Rights Center.

Mr Zeynalov said the convict had claimed in December 2005 that was he infected by tuberculosis due to misconduct of #1 cell supervisors. The convict demanded former supervisor of the cell Demir Bayramov and employees of the cell pay him compensation at E20k. As per the claim, despite 200 empty places out of 1,250 in the medical quarters, the convict was not transferred to the quarters upon revelation of first symptoms of tuberculosis.

Former executives of Gobustan jail, having accused Mr Mirzoyev of separatism, have placed him to one cell with tuberculosis-infected lifelong convict Alikram Gumbatov. That has even worsened Mr Mirzoyevs state.
