Secretariat for execution of the Framework Convention for Caspian Sea marine environment protection will be most likely deployed in Baku, Trend reports quoting Isa Aliyev, chief of foreign cooperation with the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.
The talks on this matter are almost at the end and Azerbaijan did its best to make Secretariat location Azerbaijans capital, said Aliyev. This secretariat is employing nearly 50 experts that will receive all necessary conditions created, he added.
The Framework Convention for Caspian Sea marine environment protection was signed in Tehran in 2003 by five littoral states. It became the first pentalateral intergovernmental document within the Convention for legal status of Caspian Sea and the basis for approval of other multilateral agreements, in particular agreement for preservation of Caspian Sea biological resources, cooperation in hydrometeorology and sea pollution monitoring and so on.
