Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr S. Babayeva / The Azerbaijani Ministry of Health does not consider the obligatory certification of physicians to be necessary, the Azerbaijani Deputy Health Minister Sanan Karimov stated on 10 May.
According to Karimov, certification is achieved voluntarily at present and the time-framefor it to become obligatory has not yet been defined.
"Should we demand that all doctors pass the obligatory certification at such short notice, most of them will fail as they will be unprepared," Karimov said.
There are over 28,000 physicians in Azerbaijan, the deputy minister noted.
