Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend E.Javadova / Presided over by Judge Iskender Hajiyev, a preliminary court hearing took place in the Military Court on Heinous Crimes of Azerbaijan over the criminal cases of the soldiers of Azerbaijan Armed Forces, Elchin Ahmadov, Ramin Mammadagyev, and Agaselim Selimov, all of whom are accused of State treason. They are prosecuted in accordance with articles 274 (State treason) and 338.1 (Breaking military service rules). According to the accusation act, the soldiers who were prosecuted in July-October 2006 met with Armenians repeatedly and presented them information of State importance. The soldiers have been arrested as a result of the activities of the operative group of Azerbaijan's Ministry of National Security. As a result of the preliminary court hearing, it was decided that the court process will be closed. The court hearing is fixed for 10 June.
