Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. Z.Safarov / The Azerbaijani grand master, Shahriyar Mamammadyarov, has taken 9th place in the rating of the FIDE's Commission in compliance with the Switzerland system of Eduard Dubov.
Mammadyarov beat the Russian chess players, Peter Svidler and Alexander Grishuk, the Israeli Boris Gelfand, Briton Michel Adams, Yudit Polgar from Hungary, Vladimir Akopan from Armenia, Magnus Karlsen from Norway and many other chess players. Teymur Rajabov, the other Azerbaijani grand master, took 10th place.
