Uzbekistan may attract Huawei to implementation of "Safe City” project

Uzbek Minister for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications Shukhrat Sadikov and the newly appointed Director General of Huawei in Uzbekistan Liu Jiaxin discussed the prospects for development of cooperation in the framework of the Safe City investment project, Trend reports via Uzbek media.
The creation of a single hardware-software complex "Safe City" is provided for by a resolution of Uzbek president. It is planned to combine video surveillance systems, fixation of offenses, protection of objects, as well as other information systems for prevention of offenses and duty dispatch centers.
During the meeting at the ministry, Liu Jiaxin expressed the company's willingness to strengthen and develop relations with the Uzbek side.
The tender for development of the project for the creation of Safe City complex was won by the international auditing company PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).
The decree of the head of state underlines that the first stage of the project (until 2019) envisages the creation of a complex in Tashkent, the second stage (2019–2021) in all regional centers and large cities, and in the third stage (2021–2023) the complex should cover the whole country.
