Iran, Syria to develop economic cooperation

TEHRAN, Iran, July 14

Iranian Commander General Mohammad Bagheri has discussed bilateral economic cooperation prospects with Syrian officials during his visit to Damascus, said the government spokesman.

"During the meetings, the possibility of provision of Iranian companies and armed forces' technical services for reconstruction of Syria was considered, "said Ali Rabiei, Trend reports citing Mehr News Agency.

"Iran and Syria have always had special relations that led to recent military and security agreement," he said. "The agreement covers cooepration in military, security, training and technical fields."

The official has also indicated that Iran will continue its trade with Venezuela.

"It's possible that our trade with Venezuela will help to overcome the US sanctions, but our aim is to have normal trade relations," he said.

Rabiei also commented on the issue of South Korea blocking Iran's properties in its banks.

"Iran is officially reviewing all political and legal options to address the problem," he said.
