Money Order Growth Rate to Georgia from Abroad Restored

Georgia, Tbilisi, 20 November / Trend , corr. N.Kirtskhalia/In September to October 2008, money order to Georgia from abroad was restored but slowly, the Georgian National Bank reported.

The volume of money orders to the country in October made up $92.1mln, which is by 10.9 percentages exceeds the index in 2007.

The money orders from Russia observed to make up pre-war index. In October, the index totaled $56.8mln. A total of 92.2 percentages of foreign orders fell on nine largest donors, which exceeds $1mln.

In October, the total money orders from Russia made up 61.7 percentages, Ukraine - 8.1, the U.S.- 6.6, Greece - 4.7, Italy - 3, Turkey - 2.2, Spain - 1.8, Cyprus - 1.3 and Kazakhstan - 1.2.

Ion October, a total of $6.6mln was transferred from Georgia to abroad, which is by 13.2 percentages less compared to the same period in 2007.

The money orders from Georgia to Russia have dramatically reduced by $0.9mln. However, the money orders to Ukraine increased by $132,000.
