"The global economic crisis will not impact the agricultural sector," Agriculture Minister Ismat Abasov said.
"Azerbaijan avoided the crisis by implementing a sound agrarian and economic policy," Abasaov said.
The number of local agricultural products and production capacity increased in the recent past.
Agricultural growth hit 6.1 percent and production - 6 percent in 2008.
"I think such a tendency for development will continue in 2009," the minister added.
The crisis has not impacted loans and subsidies for farmers.
The government will allocate more loans to farmers this year.
