Azerbaijani Customs Committee releases trade turnover stats with CIS

Azerbaijan imported goods worth $137 million from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in Jan. 2009, or 26.42 percent of the country's total imports, the State Customs Committee said.

Azerbaijan mainly imported grain (11.82 percent of total import), land vehicles (14.55 percent), railway vehicles (9.83 percent) and equipment and genuine parts (15.63 percent).

Azerbaijan exported goods worth $63.64 million (9.34 percent of total export) to the CIS. 

Azerbaijan exported mineral fuels, oil products, bitumen minerals (38.76 percent of total export), fruits (9.98 percent) and animal and vegetable oil 14.78 percent) to the CIS.

Export and import operations with CIS formed a red ink worth $734 million.
