Georgian experts invited to U.S. to study American experience in coastal security

The Unified transport administration of Georgia received official invitation of from the US Coastal Guard to visit the United States.

The Georgian Transport Administration told Trend , the invitation was made in a letter of coastal service security employees, who inform about results of their visit to Georgia.

The U.S. Coastal Guard delegation attributed their visit to Georgia as productive. "Georgia has achieved considerable progress in fulfilling requirements of the international code of security of vessels and harbor infrastructure. Additional taken for security of ports testifies that geirgia has done much work in this direction," the letter said.

During the reply visit Georgian specialists will study American experience and innovations in ensuring energy security of ports.

American specialists visited Georgia from Jan. 26 to 30. During the visit they visited the ports of Poti, Batumi and Kulevi.

The visit is paid under the U.S. Coastal Guard's program.
