Non-cash money supply increases by 4.2 percent in Azerbaijan in January-June

Non-cash money supply in Azerbaijan increased by 4.2 percent during the first half of the year, which is the result of measures to promote non-cash payments, the Central Bank said.

"For six months of 2012, money supply growth was higher compared to the same period last year, expanded money supply in manat has increased by 6.9 percent in accordance with the requirements of the economy," the bank said.

The growth of the monetary base during the period stood at 4.2 percent compared to the same period last year. The market grew by 33 percent.

As of July 1, expanded money supply (M3) has grown by 27.3 percent compared to the same period last year, and reached 14.5 billion manat, expanded money supply in manats (M2) increased by 34.6 percent to 11.75 billion manat.
