Oil production has increased to 1.7 million tons at the Goturdepe field in the Balkan region of Turkmenistan since early 2012, the Turkmen Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources said today. The production rate amounted to 103 per cent.
According to the information, large scale work is being conducted at the oil and gas areas of the western region of the country to increase the production of raw materials. There are special oil pumps made in Finland and Germany at the Barsagelmez, Nebitdag, Goturdep fields. Similar equipment is being introduced at the Gogerendag, Gumdag, Cheleken fields.
Most oil fields developed by the Turkmenneft state concern are located in the Caspian oil and gas region. Many of them are already at the stage of late production.
One example of improved oil recovery and enhanced recovery of raw materials is the Goturdepe field. Dozens of facilities such as block gas compressor stations and low temperature gas separation units have been recently built there. Tens of kilometres of oil and gas pipelines were laid.
More modern methods of oil production and the drilling of deep and ultra-deep wells were actively introduced.
Companies from Russia, China, Moldova, Germany, Italy and the Ukraine participated in the overhaul of wells, construction of oil and gas facilities and special equipment supplies.
New production methods are being introduced in cooperation with the Sinopec and Yugneftegas companies.
Turkmenneft has also begun developing the fields in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea. Its resources are estimated at 12 billion tons of oil and 6.5 trillion cubic meters of gas. In particular, the development of the offshore part of the Northern Goturdepe field has been launched.
This plot was developed earlier in 1990, but operations were suspended due to the intense rise in the level of the Caspian Sea.
At present, a technological level allowed the resumption of this work.
